About Me

Hey there, I’m Sarah Ansboury, and I’m thrilled to share my journey in the world of pickleball with you. It’s been quite a ride, so let’s dive into my story.

Back in 2014, I stumbled upon pickleball, and it was like love at first sight. As a former 5.5 tennis player, USPTA teacher, and NCAA coach, I knew my way around the court. But when I picked up a pickleball paddle, something magical happened.

Fast forward to 2015, and I decided to take the plunge into the competitive pickleball scene. That year, I participated in my first national pickleball tournaments, and guess what? I clinched Gold and Silver at the prestigious Tournament of Champions. Talk about an adrenaline rush!

In November of that very year, I added some more medals to my collection at the USAPA National Tournament. But the highlight was undoubtedly winning Gold in Women’s Doubles Open with my fantastic partner, Gigi LeMaster. It was a moment of pure triumph.

Then came the first-ever US OPEN Pickleball Championship in Naples, Florida, in April 2016. Five medals, including Golds in the Pro Division Women’s Doubles with the incredible Christine McGraft and Mixed Doubles with the talented Daniel Moore. That tournament was a game-changer for me.

Today, I proudly call Hilton Head Island my home base. I serve as the Director of Pickleball Instruction at Palmetto Dunes, a place where my passion for the sport can flourish. It’s not just about winning; it’s about nurturing the next generation of pickleball stars.

I’m also deeply involved in pickleball education and certification as the Education Consultant and Lead Clinician for the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR). We’re the official education and certification partner of the USAPA, dedicated to shaping the future of pickleball teaching professionals and coaches worldwide.

So, there you have it—a glimpse into my pickleball journey. From a tennis enthusiast to a pickleball powerhouse, my love for this sport knows no bounds. I’m here to inspire, coach, and celebrate the fantastic world of pickleball with you. Let’s keep winning points and making memories on the court!
